Yes. Many of the homes we automate in Mallorca are second residences that stand empty for part of the year. A properly designed system lets you check the property, adjust climate, review security cameras and receive alerts from anywhere — and lets our engineers diagnose and often resolve issues remotely, without waiting for a site visit.

It depends on the size of the property and the scope of the system — a focused lighting and shading installation is a very different project from whole-home automation. Rather than quoting generic figures, we start with a conversation about your project and then prepare a written technical proposal, typically within five working days, with no obligation.

They differ in how open the system is and where the control lives. KNX is an open, multi-vendor standard that unifies hardware from many manufacturers. Loxone is a proprietary server-based platform, often chosen for compact installations. Crestron and Lutron are the two we specify: both are complete systems, programmed by a dealer rather than configured from a menu of presets, so any scene, schedule or piece of logic is written for how the house is actually used and can be rewritten years later when that changes. What sets them apart is shading: each makes its own motorised blinds and curtains that run on the same bus as the lighting and control, so the shade is engineered into the system rather than added as a third-party motor afterwards. Like any professional platform, both also bring in specialist subsystems and unify everything behind a single interface.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Wireless lighting control, battery or mains-powered shading and mesh networking are designed for properties where opening walls and ceilings is not an option, so most of a system can be added without disturbing finished surfaces. We survey the property before specifying anything, and design around what is already there — including motorised awnings or exterior shading already installed, which can usually be brought into the same system rather than replaced.

Ideally yes. The decisions that matter most — where panels and keypads sit, how cable routes reach them, which surfaces stay clear of visible technology — are cheap at drawing stage and expensive once the walls are closed. We work alongside architects and interior designers from the specification stage, so the system is planned into the building rather than added to it. Where a property is already finished, a wireless design achieves most of the same result.
